2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of Midorikai. To commemorate this major milestone, a worldwide relay tea gathering was planned. A large-scale reunion/anniversary celebration is being planned for 2022 in Kyoto, but because major domestic and international events are being planned for 2020 and 2021, the Midorikai anniversary has been set back two years in order not to overlap with these events, and to not cause an administrative burden on the Soke. Hounsai Daisosho sama will visit Helsinki in October to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Finland as well as the 30th anniversary of the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Finland Association.
