A Warmth of Spirit and Generosity Never to Be Forgotten

It was with profound sadness that we received the news of the passing of Hounsai Sosho (Daisosho Genshitsu Sen) on August 14, 2025. The shocking news was first announced around noon that day, on Japanese national newspaper outlets and television.

The Urasenke Midorikai owes its very being to Hounsai Sosho, and shall never forget his open-armed warmth of spirit and great generosity, which touched and inspired us all.

At the time of the farewell assembly, UMAA presented a donation of JPY300,000 to Konnichian in tribute to Hounsai Sosho, plus a contribution toward the flowers.
